St Louis of France Catholic Church is located in the village of Safotulafai on the big island of Savaii in Samoa. This village is considered as the traditional center of Savaii. The Church was built by three French Marist Priests, Fr Dumais (Parish Priest), Fr Hansel and Fr Desrosierus in 1951 and blessed by Archbishop George Pierce who was commonly known as Moseniolo Ameto on 1st-2nd May 1962. The parish celebrates the feast day of St Louis annually on 25th August and it consists of about 200 parishioners.

This is the third holy door from the Archdiocese of Samoa-Apia to be blessed on 27th December 2015 by His Grace Archbishop Alapati Mataeliga on Sunday at 5:00pm.

Other Information
The Holy Door is opened throughout the Year of Mercy for pilgrimages who come at any time to pray and seek the Lord’s mercy through the Sacrament of Confession.

Other priests from neighbouring parishes will also be invited especially for confessions.
